Striking colours of nature would never mismatch one another
A basement
courtyard in a private residence in Interlace, Singapore has been adorn with this
sensible feature, a little green room to enjoy bit of the nature in a small
spaced home.
An exquisite
display of living plant wall has being achieved with a variety of colourful
plants placed in a perfectly uneven pattern. Pot placement have started
from the bottom right corner to minimize the number of rearrangements and keep a
good natural flow. Excess water discharged properly with a pipe line laid down
the green wall. If any one of you would like to have a similar concept in your
indoor space it’s always better if you can allow soil/ turf/ gravel or sand
under the wall similarly unlike having a finished floor to ensure extra protection
of your floor against water spill-off.
Pre-grown
plants were shifted to vertical planting pots and kept for stabilization off
site for a decent time. Also, the transportation and handling of plants have
been given a great inspection to serve a better end solution to the client.
The structure
was straight fixed back to the existing masonry wall with the irrigation system
running in to two zones to maintain fair amount of water goes in to each and
every pot. Light and air circulation is critical for this sort of interior
green walls where as certain parts may not get the same amount of sun and air
which ultimately demand for different level of watering for different areas.
It’s not practical to customize or have so many fragments, where as it
increases the cost of the client and would give a bulky look to the wall. Best
way to tackle such situation is pre-plan your plant layout in a way they fit to
the best fit place in the wall.
