Spider plants are also known as airplane plant, ribbon plants and many other names. Even though it’s native to southern Africa it has been naturalize in other parts of the world. There are three varieties is the species and variegated form is more popular. They are considered as non-toxic to pets. Also it’s a super air purifier which cleans air which makes it one of the best selection for indoors. 

Spider plant is an easy to grow houseplant due to it’s tolerance to many conditions. It’s a perennial flowering plant. Flowers are generated in branched clusters in long stems. Flowers are greenish white. Spider plant is a hanging plant that requires a bit of displaying space as its generates babies. Baby plants which are usualy light in colour and variegated than the mother plant. If there are too many babies hang on the mother plant its important to remove them as they absorb nutrients from the parent plant and make it weaker.

Spider Plants are one of the easy care house plant which can be grown indoor and outdoor. If grow out door it is necessary to provide a shady spot as the plants prefer bright light but not in hot. Plants also can be grown in lower light conditions but there can be colour change; turning to solid green. Also plants won’t produce babies without natural light.

Plants prefer low to average watering and depend on the warmness and brightness of the location. It’s recommended to water them when the soil is almost dry and drain out water from the pots.
